DRAFT DAY (PG-13)

On the day of the NFL Draft the Cleveland Browns General Manager carefully trades for the number one pick, but what is he willing to sacrifice? How can he work the politics with other GMs? Who's going to be Draft 1,2 or 3? Some of us have no idea what any of this really means. But with Kevin Costner at the center, with some sideline help from feisty Dennis Leary, even non-NFL folks can stick with it.

Some weird questions come up: why is Frank Langella always wearing sunglasses? Why is Jennifer Garner's character so boring? 42's Chadwick Boseman has a brief role and is terrific, so why wasn't he nominated for an Oscar as Jackie Robinson? The process and stakes of "Draft Day" are perfectly displayed, Costner is well cast. This is thoughtful, reasoning and actually follows a moral compass. You should see this film especially if you're someone who loves the NFL and the game.

THE GALAPAGOS AFFAIR: SATAN CAME TO EDEN (UNRATED)

This is one amazing documentary. It has the thrill and mystery of a class-A feature combined with the facts of real life. This is not about the wildlife of the fabled islands; human beings are far more bizarre. That's what we discover as we follow a German couple in 1934 as they settle in the most remote part of the Galapagos Islands. They go to find paradise, but are joined by anything but, including a megalomaniacal, erotic Baroness and her menservants.

Deftly interweaving vintage footage with today's natives, this film has the voices of Cate Blanchett and Diane Kruger as storytelling voices. Hats off to local filmmakers Dayna Goldfine and Dan Geller. Sociology, geography, philosophy, Nietzche, do not miss this wild true tale.
