Gunman Opens Fire During Afternoon Commute On I-80 Near Richmond

RICHMOND (CBS SF) – Another shooting occurred Tuesday evening on Interstate Highway 80 near Richmond, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The shooting was reported at 5:15 p.m. on Highway 80 near Richmond Parkway.

A woman driving east reported that a green Toyota pulled up along the passenger side of her vehicle, according to the CHP.

A Hispanic male suspect in the back seat rolled down the window, pointed a gun at the victim, then fired multiple rounds into the air before the driver of the Toyota fled the scene, officers said.

No injuries were reported in the shooting, but officers are asking witnesses to call (707) 551-4100.

Tuesday evening's shooting follows a series of similar incidents on that stretch of Highway 80 in recent months.
