SoCal Man Shoots Into Ex-Girlfriend's Home Daycare; Children Unhurt

CHULA VISTA, San Diego County (AP) -- Authorities say a California man was arrested on suspicion of shooting at his ex-girlfriend through a glass door while she was standing inside her house, managing an in-home daycare.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reports Chula Vista Police Lt. Dan Peak says the woman led the seven children in her care to a bathroom Monday when her ex-boyfriend shot several rounds at her.

Peak says neither the woman nor the children were hurt. The man suffered a minor foot injury when he broke into the two-story house.

Police believe the man may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Peaks says the couple broke up Sunday night.

Peak says the man was expected to be booked into jail on suspicion of attempted murder, felony child endangerment and arson.
