Ikea Recalls 80,000 Baby Gates Over Risk Of Unlocking, Falls

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) -- Ikea has recalled about 80,000 baby gates.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the gates can unlock themselves and cause falls.

There have been 55 incidents reported worldwide. At least 10 injuries resulted in 2 concussions, along with cuts and bruises.

The recall includes the Patrull Safety Gate and Extension, and the Patrull Klamma Safety Gate and Extension.

The gates were made in Denmark and sold nationwide both online and in stores between 1995 and 2016.

An additional 28,000 were sold in Canada, according to the CPSC.

Ikea warns customers to stop using them, and return to the store for a full refund.
