I-880 Reopens After Fiery 7-Car Accident In San Leandro

SAN LEANDRO (CBS SF) -- California Highway Patrol officials have opened all lanes of northbound Interstate Highway 880 in San Leandro Tuesday morning after a multi-vehicle collision, according to the CHP.

The first report of the collision on I-880 just north of Davis Street came in at 3:02 a.m.

CHP officials issued a Sig-alert at 3:26 a.m. and canceled the alert at 5:13 a.m.

Up to seven vehicles were involved in the collision, according to the CHP. One person is in critical condition and another has moderate injuries, according to the Alameda County Fire Department. Three people declined transportation for medical treatment, the Alameda County Fire Department tweeted.
