San Jose Homicide Mystery: Man's Body Found Next To Big Rig In San Jose Industrial Park

SAN JOSE (KCBS)— San Jose police were investigating the city's 12th homicide after a body was found Tuesday morning in an industrial area off Monterey Road.

Police described the body as that of an Asian male in his 40s or 50s and that the location of the discovery was unusual because it was in a warehouse parking lot and the body was next to a red big rig truck.

Police spokesman Albert Morales said the area is isolated.

"Typically you have some witness. Somebody that saw something and that's what we're hoping. Right now we have nothing," he said. Investigators are reviewing cameras in the area for clues.

Morales said the victim had injuries consistent with some type of struggle.

Moments after KCBS talked to police, a woman named Tien Li showed up wondering if the body discovered was in fact her friend who drives that big rig.

"He's supposed to pick up a load [in Salinas] and then go deliver in Maryland," she said.

She did say that her friend, the truck driver, had asked her the night before the discovery, to bring him food and that's what she was doing.

It was not clear if her friend was in fact the big rig driver.
