Homicide Suspect Barricaded In Standoff With Oakland Police

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Police in Oakland are involved in a standoff with a man suspected in two recent murders.

According to authorities, the standoff began Thursday evening at the Motel 6 on Edes Avenue near Hegenberger Road in East Oakland.

Police say the man who barricaded himself in a hotel room is 18-year-old Jason Brown, who they say is armed and dangerous.

Brown is among two people suspected of opening fire on two men sitting in a car outside a CVS store in Livermore last month. One man was killed, while the other was hospitalized.

The 18-year-old is also wanted for a separate murder in Fresno.

No other details are immediately available.
