Homeless Man Stabs Construction Workers In Tenderloin After Asked To Stop Urinating

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — Police Tuesday released the name of a homeless man who allegedly stabbed two construction workers after they asked him to stop urinating at a construction site in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood on Sunday afternoon.

Alton Ray Moore, 49, a transient, was arrested following the stabbings reported just before 2 p.m. Sunday near Larkin and Geary streets, San Francisco police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

Moore was booked into county jail on suspicion of attempted murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, Esparza said.

The victims, men ages 27 and 37, were both workers at the site and told Moore to stop urinating where they were working. Moore then allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the workers, according to police.

The 27-year-old man was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries while the 37-year-old worker suffered a stab wound to his arm.

Moore was found shortly after the stabbings and was arrested. The knife used in the attacks was also recovered, Esparza said.
