SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- San Francisco police say a man attacked a 5-year-old girl as she walked in the Marina district Wednesday morning.

The girl was walking past a homeless man with her mother when he allegedly grabbed her by the neck, lifted her up and pushed her into a wall, according to police.

The girl suffered a bloody scratch and other injuries to her neck in the attack.

Her mother called 911 and responding officers arrested Adras Kosdi, 31 on suspicion of false imprisonment, aggravated assault and child abuse, police said.
