Holiday DUI Enforcement Nets 3 Arrests In Concord

CONCORD (CBS SF) -- Holiday DUI enforcement efforts netted three alcohol-related arrests in Concord overnight, police said Sunday.

During a six-hour period between 9 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday morning, officers conducted 50 vehicle stops and 16 DUI investigations. A total of five arrests were made, but only three were on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Four drivers were cited or arrested for driving without a license, or on a license that has been suspended or revoked. A total of 19 citations were issued, according to police.

In addition to jail time and driving restrictions, consequences for a DUI can include fines, fees and legal costs exceeding $10,000, according to police.
