Hit-And-Run Leaves Man With Serious Injuries In San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A man suffered serious injuries when a hit-and-run driver struck him in San Francisco's Portola District on Monday morning, police said Tuesday.

At 7:25 a.m. on Monday a man in his 60s was getting into his vehicle at the intersection of Gaven Street and San Bruno Avenue when the driver of a brown Acura Legend struck him from behind, according to police.

The suspect fled the scene, but the suspect vehicle was later recovered, according to police.

Officers said the victim suffered head trauma and a severe leg injury. He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police have not yet made any arrests in connection with the hit-and-run incident.
