Hillary Clinton Ad Campaign Prompts 18+ Warning In Russia For Clip Of Gay Couple

(CBS SF) -- A Russian TV channel slapped an 18+ age rating on Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign video for featuring a gay couple.

A spokesperson for Dozhd TV, an independent Russian channel, told ABC 7 that it had decided to include the age warning to avoid falling out of line with the country's "gay propaganda" law. Signed by President Vladimir Putin in 2013, the law bans public events and dissemination of information on the LGBT community to minors punishable by fines of up to $16,000.

The video, which aired on social media Sunday, shows couple Nathan Johnson and Jared Milrad holding hands in the video as one of the men says, "I'm getting married this summer to someone I really care about."

The couple responded to the TV channel's decision over Twitter:

Shorly after the video came out, the couple invited the former Secretary of State to their wedding as a "thank you" for featuring them in her campaign video.

As she did in 2007, Clinton began her campaign for the 2016 Democratic nomination with a video. But rather than follow it with a splashy rally, she instead plans to head to the early-voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire, looking to connect with voters directly at coffee shops, day care centers and some private homes.

REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES:
