Overturned Truck Blocks Highway 101 In San Rafael

SAN RAFAEL (CBS SF) – An overturned box truck blocked lanes on both northbound and southbound U.S. Highway 101 near the North San Pedro Road off-ramp in San Rafael Friday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.

The truck struck the wall in the center divide scattering food it was hauling around 8:25 a.m., and is leaning on the wall, CHP Officer Andrew Barclay said.

Paramedics treated and transported two patients with minor injuries to an area hospital as a result of the accident.

At 10:20 a.m., it was reported that all southbound lanes had reopened, but the left four northbound lanes remained blocked.

There was no projected time for the reopening of the northbound lanes, according to CHP. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
