Highway 101 Closing Overnight In Burlingame/Millbrae Area For Emergency Repairs

BURLINGAME (CBS SF) -- U.S. Highway 101 in the Burlingame/Millbrae area closed Sunday night around 9:30 p.m. for an emergency repair.

Southbound lanes will be closed from Millbrae Avenue in Millbrae to Poplar Avenue in San Mateo and northbound lanes will be closed from Anza Boulevard to Broadway in Burlingame until about 4 a.m. Monday, OES officials said.

The officials added that the closure could be extended.

The Broadway overpass in Burlingame will also be closed until about noon Monday, OES officials said.

The officials said drivers can expect significant delays and are asking them to use an alternate route if possible.

Drivers going north can use westbound state Highway 92 to northbound Interstate Highway 280 to eastbound Interstate Highway 380 to Highway 101, OES officials said.

Drivers heading south can use westbound I-380 to southbound I-280 to eastbound state Highway 92 to Highway 101, according to the OES.

Motorists are being asked to avoid detouring onto city streets because streets may become congested.
