PESCADERO (CBS SF) -- A stretch of state Highway 1 near Ano Nuevo State Park in San Mateo County has reopened more than three hours after a collision that killed one person and injured two others Monday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At about 5:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of a head-on collision on Highway 1 near Green Oaks Way, CHP Officer Peter Van Eckhardt said.

The collision was between a GMC truck and Nissan Altima, he said.

One person was killed and two others were injured, Van Eckhardt said.

The injured were transported to Stanford Medical Center, but CHP Officer Damian Cistaro did not have an update on the extent of their injuries tonight.

Emergency crews and the San Mateo County coroner's office responded to the scene, Van Eckhardt said.

A Sig-alert was issued at 6:28 p.m. closing all lanes in both directions between Pescadero and Santa Cruz until shortly before 9 p.m., according to the CHP.

Traffic was diverted off Highway 1 near Green Oaks Way during the closure, CHP officials said.
