High-Risk Sex Offender Moves Into Fairfield Neighborhood

FAIRFIELD (CBS SF) -- Fairfield police said Thursday that a high-risk sex offender has moved to a residence in the 2000 block of Clay Bank Road.

George Edward Shockley was convicted in 1990 of annoying or molesting children under 18 and in 1993 for lewd acts with a child under age 14, police said in a Nixle alert.

Shockley is on supervised state parole on unrelated charges and is required to register as a sex offender every year and when he changes residences.

Shockley, 49, is a black male, 5 feet 9 inches and 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He has a cross tattoo on his left hand and the word "love" tattooed on his right shoulder.

Police said they will inform the community when his residence changes in Fairfield.
