Hayward Teen Missing Since Saturday Found Safe In San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Runaway Hayward teen Minh Ly was located at the Larkin Street Youth Services in San Francisco after he went missing Saturday, police said Wednesday.

Alameda County sheriff's deputies said he went there on his own and was found in good health.

"Clearly this is the best outcome for everyone concerned," Sergeant James Nelson said. "Somebody recognized his photo which was all over the TV, print and internet (Tuesday)."

An extensive search was launched for Ly after he walked away from his home last weekend.

Ly, a 16-year-old student at Moreau Catholic High School, walked into a wooded area near his home following an ongoing dispute with his father about playing the online game "League of Legends."

The teen had no phone or wallet with him at the time of his disappearance. Authorities said there has been some activity on his Facebook account, which has led to Alameda County detectives to search for the teen in San Francisco, where the account last set off an electronic marker.
