Hayward Man Sentenced To 10 Years Prison On Child Porn Charges

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A Hayward man has been sentenced by a U.S. District Judge in San Francisco to more than 10 years in prison for receiving child pornography and traveling with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct, the acting United States Attorney said Tuesday.

Craig Patrick Burt, 60, pleaded guilty in June - admitting that he'd received images of young girls from 10 to 15 years old engaged in sexually explicit conduct via email, according to United States Attorney Brian Stretch.

Burt also admitted to traveling to the Philippines in January with the intent to engage in sexual conduct with underage girls. Stretch said Burt detailed the specific sexual acts he intended to perform through online chat messages.

He was arrested at San Francisco International Airport while trying to reenter the United States in February, according to Stretch. Burt's sentence also includes a five-year period of supervised release, Stretch said.
