Active Duty Airman Accused Of Hate Crime After Altercation In Davis

DAVIS (CBS13) – An active duty airman was arrested on suspicion of a hate crime in the college town of Davis early Saturday, according to police.

According to CBS Sacramento, the Davis Police Department said 21-year-old Nathan Neal Rogers was involved in an altercation with a 26-year-old Sacramento resident near 3rd and G Streets around 2 a.m.

Rogers reportedly pushed the victim, an Asian man, and told him to "go back to his country."

Police say the man didn't want to press charges, but the incident happened in front of an officer and Rogers was taken into custody.
