Harrison Ford Spotted Shopping At Outdoor Clothing Store In San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The force was with a Hayes Valley store in San Francisco this weekend when Star Wars actor Harrison Ford showed up to shop.

Staff at Triple Aught Design, an outdoor clothing and equipment store on Hayes Street, took photos with the Academy Award-nominated actor after he purchased a couple of items on Saturday.

"It was really a surprise and a welcome one at that," a store spokesperson said, adding that he must have been shopping in the neighborhood.

What he purchased is unknown, but the store sells for selling military-quality tactical garb -- a fitting style for the on and off screen adventurer.

Not falling far from his Han Solo and Indiana Jones characters, Ford is a private pilot and a chairman of the Experimental Aircraft Association. He also works with a professional archaeology governing board to prevent the looting of illegal antiquities.

Ford is starring in Star Wars: Episode VII, which comes out in U.S. theaters December 18.

Nicole Jones is a digital producer for CBS San Francisco.
