Handguns Seized, Dozens Arrested On Drunk In Public Charges During Pride Weekend In San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The San Francisco Police Department has seized at least four handguns at this weekend's Pride celebration, according to statistics about police activity at the event released Sunday morning.

On Saturday officers arrested 10 people on suspicion of public drunkenness at the event downtown. Three people were arrested on suspicion of committing felonies and nine were arrested on suspicion of misdemeanors, according to police.

One individual was reportedly arrested on an outstanding warrant, and 13 others made use of a "sobering center" at the direction of police.

Outside the event there were an additional 16 arrests for public drunkenness in the Mission District. One individual was arrested on suspicion of a robbery in Dolores Park, and three juveniles were arrested on suspicion of possessing M-80 fireworks, according to police.
