Half Of '10 Best Companies To Work For' Based In Bay Area

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Fortune Magazine's annual "100 Best Companies To Work For" continues to be dominated by Silicon Valley's tech industry.

Unsurprisingly, Mountain View's Google topped the 2014 list, released early online through sister publication CNN Money – but it wasn't even the only company in town to crack the top 10. Software maker Intuit landed the number 8 spot, joining South San Francisco's Genentech (6), San Francisco's SalesForece (7) and Redwood City construction company DPR (10).

Google was lauded for their sky-high stock price and policies aimed at getting employees to give back.

Cisco, Intel and Autodesk are among the other big local tech heavyweights landing on the list.

Google, Intel and Cisco were also among the top companies who are hiring.
