Hackers Hit Online Hookup Site AdultFriendFinder; Post Sexual Preferences Of Millions

SUNNYVALE (CBS SF) -- A British TV station reports that hackers got into the data of online hookup site AdultFriendFinder, and posted the personal details and sexual interests of nearly four million users in a hackers forum.

AdultFriendFinder matches people with similar interests and preferences for sexual encounters.

U.K.'s Channel 4 said the stolen data includes email addresses, birth dates, sexual preferences, and whether the users were looking to cheat on their partners.

The breach is very different from most others, as the hackers focused on the personal details of users rather than divulge information like credit car numbers.

Sunnyvale-based parent company Friend Finder Networks said it has hired Milpitas-based FireEye subsidiary Mandiant to investigate the breach.
