Guns, Cash, Suspects Rounded Up In Oakland Raids

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Oakland Housing Authority police arrested two suspects and seized guns and cash in a series of raids on public housing in West Oakland Thursday morning, police said.

Three search warrants were served at locations associated with narcotics trafficking, according to Oakland Housing Authority police Chief Carel Duplessis.

The raids were all done between 9 and 10 a.m. at locations in the 1700 block of Ninth Street, the 1000 block of Eighth Street and the 800 block of Milton Street.

The officers seized heroin, cocaine and $11,000 in cash.

Lena White, 32, and Charles Dornner, 60, were both arrested, Duplessis said.

The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents assisted in the investigation. Neighbors reported seeing multiple police patrol cars and an armored vehicle in the area of Wood Street taking at least one suspect into custody.
