Grass fire near Soledad nearly contained after burning 76 acres

SOLEDAD -- Cal Fire said at 8:34 p.m. Sunday the Range Fire in Monterey County is 95 percent contained at 76 acres.

The fire agency said a previous report saying the fire was 500 acres was incorrect, due to faulty mapping.

The fire was initially reported after 4:30 p.m. off San Vicente Road, two miles north of Soledad.

Cal Fire called a full wildland response, including air support. 

Later reports indicated four tankers were working the incident.
