Grass Fire Burning Near Lake Chabot On Outskirts Of San Leandro
SAN LEANDRO (CBS SF) -- A grass fire burning near Lake Chabot is causing street closures on the outskirts of San Leandro Monday afternoon, police and fire officials said.
The fire was reported at 3:37 p.m. near the 1400 block of Lake Chabot Road, fire spokeswoman Aisha Knowles said.
It is moving uphill in steep terrain, Knowles said.
Police have closed Lake Chabot Road south of Estudillo Avenue to traffic as well as Astor Drive near the Bay-O-Vista Swim and Tennis Club while firefighters work to put the fire out.
