Graffiti Artist Defaces Yosemite & Other National Parks, Posts Possibly Incriminating Images On Instagram

YOSEMITE (CBS SF) -- A graffiti artist who is accused of defacing national parks across five states has posted evidence of the acts on social media sites, and federal investigators are trying to track the suspect down.

Images of cartoonish portraits etched into rocks and cliffs in 10 different federal sites have been posted to Instagram under the username @creepytings, but have since been taken down.

Investigators even took to Reddit to gather clues to the identity of the tagger.

Yosemite National Park Investigator Steve Yu asked Reddit users for any images they had seen that might be related to the vandalism, and was provided screenshots of the deleted images.

Parks in Colorado, Oregon, Utah, Arizona, and California have likely been hit according to officials.

The National Park Service issued a statement saying they were investigating the incidents.
