Google Engineer Living Rent-Free By Sleeping In A Truck On Campus

MOUNTAIN VIEW (CBS SF) -- A Google engineer has found a way to live rent-free in the Bay Area, by living in a truck.

Google employee Brandon S. bought the truck for $10,000, and says his free parking spot on Google's campus is key.

Instead of rent, he pays about $120 per month in insurance for the truck.

Inside the ride, he keeps only a bed, dresser, and a homemade coat rack.  Daily meals and showers are taken care of in Google's employee kitchen and gym.

Brandon says he has been able to put a $6,000 dent in his college loans thanks to the truck, and is saving about 90 percent of his income after taxes.
