Golden Gate Bridge Toll Increase Begins On Monday

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) — It's about to cost more to cross the Golden Gate Bridge as the toll is going up by a dollar on Monday.

FasTrak commuters will pay $6 while the toll for carpoolers using FasTrack will be $4. Everyone else will pay $7 to driver across the iconic landmark.

 

The tolls will remain the same until next July of next year when they will go up by $0.25 and will do the same each year until 2018.

The Golden Gate Transportation District would have faced a $142 million budget shortfall, over the next five years, if it didn't increase tolls. The planned increases are expected to raise $138 million.
