Glen Ellen Man Missing After Being Thrown From Speedboat On Lake Berryessa

LAKE BERRYESSA (CBS SF) -- A Glen Ellen man who was thrown out of a speedboat on Lake Berryessa Saturday evening is still missing, a Napa County sheriff's captain said.

Roger Winslow, 49, was riding with two other passengers in a 2001 Eliminator boat containing two outboard motors around 6:20 p.m. when the boat veered in one direction then quickly in another direction launching Winslow into the water, Capt. Doug Pike said.

One of the two passengers entered the water to assist Winslow and noticed debris and bodily fluids in the water indicating Winslow was struck by at least one propeller, Pike said.

There was no sign of Winslow in the water that is about 170 feet deep in The Narrows area of the lake in northern Napa County, Pike said.

A dive team searched Sunday and Monday, and a patrol boat was on the water today looking for Winslow, Pike said.

The sheriff's office is trying to get a robotic device with a camera from Santa Clara County to search the bottom of the lake, Pike said.

The sheriff's office took possession of the boat to check for mechanical issues with the steering, Pike said.
