19-Year-Old Woman Arrested After Caught On Camera Using Dead Man's Credit Cards

GILROY (CBS/AP) — A Bay Area woman recorded on surveillance video allegedly using a dead man's credit cards at a convenience store has been arrested on suspicion of his homicide.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports Gabriela Bernice Ortiz of San Jose was taken into custody on Monday.

Police say the 19-year-old woman was identified though tips generated by the video footage.

Authorities say an autopsy for 56-year-old Robert Joseph Heiser found internal injuries due to blunt force trauma.

Heiser was found dead last week at his home in Gilroy after neighbors called police about barking dogs.

Gilroy police Sgt. Pedro Espinoza says investigators believe other people may have been involved in Heiser's death.

Ortiz is jailed on suspicion of murder and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday. It's not immediately known if she has a lawyer.
