Giants Take 2 Out Of 3 From Dodgers In San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS/AP) -- Brandon Belt hit a two-run homer off rookie Julio Urias in the sixth inning to help Jake Peavy earn his 150th career win, and the San Francisco Giants beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-1 on Sunday night.

Belt struck out in his first two plate appearances against the 19-year-old Urias before homering into the right-center stands on a 1-1 pitch. Joe Panik singled with one out ahead of Belt's home run.

Joc Pederson homered and Chase Utley had three hits for Los Angeles. The Dodgers fell five games behind the first-place Giants in the NL West after losing the final two games of the series.

Urias, the Dodgers' highly touted young left-hander making his fourth career start, pitched well up until that point but exited after Belt's home run. Urias (0-2) matched his major league high with seven strikeouts and allowed four hits over 5 1/3 innings—his longest outing of the year.
