Geoffrey Kenisi, Diane Johnson Elite Winners In 103rd Bay To Breakers Race

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - At the 103rd Bay To Breakers, San Francisco Police cleared the start of the 7.4-mile foot race early Sunday morning after about a 25-minute delay, police said.

Race officials said Geoffrey Kenisi from Kenya was the first male elite runner, crossing the finish line with a time of 35:06. Diane Johnson was the first female elite runner to cross the finish line with a time of 40:15.

Also, San Francisco Fire Department was dispatched to assist an adult male runner who may have suffered a fractured ankle during the Bay to Breakers foot race, a dispatcher said. The call to the Fire Department came at about 8:45 a.m. at Howard and Fourth streets, the dispatcher reported. The incident happened around 20 minutes into the start of the race.
