'Frozen' Tops $1 Billion Mark Worldwide

(ALICE@97.3) - A little over a week after taking home two Oscars, Disney's "Frozen" has broken the $1 billion mark in world wide box office.

In just four months, the film has become the second highest grossing animated film – trailing only Pixar's 2010 "Toy Story 3″ – and according to Box Office Mojo the 17th highest grossing film of all time with $1,009,500. With "Frozen" remaining in the top ten over the past weekend, the film should continue to climb the all-time and possibly rival the "Toy Story 3″ total ($1,063,200).

The film, loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen's "The Snow Queen," follows Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) as she teams up with mountain man Kristoff and his sidekick reindeer in an epic journey to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), the Snow Queen.
