What's The Catch With $1 Frontier Airlines Flights?

(CBS SF) -- Frontier Airlines announced its "Fly for a Buck" sale this week, but you'll need more than $1 to book your next getaway.

The ticket may be only a few nickles and dimes, but customers will have to pay $15 each way in fees -- and that's not including extra fees for a carry-on bag, checked bag or seat assignment. Still, it's a a great deal if you managed to buy it in time.

As Time.com points out, all the "$1" fares were sold out as of Thursday morning. The cheapest flights are $29 after using the "5OFF" promo code at checkout.

If you're departing from San Francisco International Airport, you can find one-way flights as low as $30 to Phoenix and Las Vegas. If you're itching to travel a bit further, Frontier is offering one-way $50 flights to Chicago and $69 flights to Houston.

But like most airline deals, travel is limited to certain days and usually only gets you a middle aisle seat with nothing more than a small backpack.
