Friends Mourn Death Of SJ Teen Killed In Horrific DUI Hit-And-Run Crash

SAN JOSE (KPIX 5) -- A horrific crash killed a San Jose teenager Saturday morning. Police said the two drivers sped off afterward leaving the dead and the injured behind.

It happened at the intersection of Hillsdale and Meridian. Two vehicles were heading westbound, each carrying several passengers.

Police said speed and alcohol played a part when one vehicle lost control and hit a pole. Three passengers were ejected - including a 15-year-old boy, who died.

The victim was Harry Guerrero's good friend.

"Rest in peace. he was a good person," he said sadly.

Guerrero and his friends came to the crash site to pay their respects.

"I've known him for a couple years, and he was one of the real ones to me. I loved him," he said.

Police said one of the cars involved in the crash was stolen.

Meantime, more friends came by to clean up pieces of the crash – a shattered window, scattered debris -- to Guerrero, all reminders of the friend he lost so suddenly.

"I wish I could have told him more, at least. I wish I could have told him one more good-bye, at least."
