Police Shoot Retail Robbery Suspects in Union City Following High-Speed Chase

UNION CITY (CBS SF) -- Two robbery suspects were injured and a third was taken into custody Friday night following a pursuit from Fremont to Union City.

Fremont police responded at 6:48 p.m. to a robbery call at the Sephora Store at the Pacific Commons shopping center and pursued a suspect vehicle they saw leaving. The chase went into Union City where it ended at a cul-de-sac on Balmoral Road.

An officer fired at the suspects, injuring two, while a third was apprehended. The injured suspects were taken to a hospital.

Union City police are taking the lead in investigating the case.

They said the names of the suspects and the officer are being withheld because the investigation is still active.
