Free Simulcast Of SF Opera's La Traviata At AT&T Park

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Opera aficionados and baseball fans came together Saturday for a free live simulcast of Giuseppe Verdi's "La Traviata" at AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants baseball team.

Attendees watched the performance on a high definition 103-foot wide scoreboard as it was performed live at the stage of San Francisco's War Memorial Opera House.

"La Traviata," which is sung in Italian with English supertitles, is the story of two ill-fated lovers Violetta and Alfredo, played by off-stage husband-and-wife team soprano Ailyn Perez and tenor Stephen Costello.

This was the 12th free simulcast presented by the San Francisco Opera and the eighth held at AT&T Park.
