Former 1st Rounder Hayden To Start The Season On Injured List For Raiders

OAKLAND (CBS SF) - Injury woes continue to plague young Oakland Raiders cornerback D.J. Hayden.

The number 12 overall pick in the 2012 draft will miss at least six games after he is placed on the physically unable to perform list by the team, the NFL's Kevin Patra reports.

Hayden underwent foot surgery in July, and has played just eight games so far in his raiders career.

Hayden was a surprise pick by the Raiders after he suffered a life-threatening injury in practice during his senior year at the University of Houston. He started two games for the raiders last year, and picked off a pass from San Diego quarterback Phillip Rivers.

The earliest he will be eligible to return is October 26 for a game at Cleveland.
