KCBS radio "Foodie Chap" and KPIX 5 television "Eye On The Bay" host Liam Mayclem introduces us to the culinary stars behind the food and wine loved by so many in the Bay Area.

Mike DeSimone And Jeff Jenssen, also known as the World Wine Guys, are wine, spirits, food, and travel writers, educators, and hosts. They are award winning journalists as well as best-selling and award winning authors. They have been featured guests on The TODAY Show, The Martha Stewart Show, Better TV, and CBS, FOX and NBC networks. Mike and Jeff are the Entertaining and Lifestyle Editors at Wine Enthusiast Magazine, regular travel and wine contributors for The Huffington Post and twice monthly wine columnists for The Latin Kitchen, the on-line arm of Latina Magazine. Their articles and photographs have appeared in Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, TODAY, Huffington Post, The Latin Kitchen, MSNBC, and Saveur. They have also been featured in Women's Health, Associated Press, and Reuters.

DeSimone and Jenssen are the authors of Wines Of California: The Comprehensive Guide (Sterling Epicure, Foreword by Michael Mondavi and Preface by Kevin Zraly, September 2014) and Wines Of The Southern Hemisphere: The Complete Guide (Sterling Epicure, Foreword by Michel Rolland) won the Gourmand International Award for Best Wine Book 2012 in the USA. They are also the authors of the Fire Island Cookbook (Simon and Schuster, Foreword by Al Roker.)

The duo regularly host wine tastings and educational seminars around the world and teach their signature class, Window's On The World: Wines Of The Southern Hemisphere in partnership with Kevin Zraly. Always engaging, informative, and entertaining, Mike and Jeff have taught at The Astor Center, Sherry Lehmann, The Culinary Institute of America, The Georgetown Club, and on board Seabourn Cruise Lines. Mike and Jeff are members of the International Food, Wine, and Travel Writers Association, The Society of Wine Educators, and The James Beard Foundation. They are proud to have received the prestigious Golden Pen Award for food, wine, and travel journalism and equally proud and honored to have been inducted into the Chevaliers du Tastvin at the Chateau duClos de Vougeout in Burgundy.

We met at CHAYA in San Francisco for a conversation over good food paired with knockout wines of California (of course).

As with any lunch with the wine guys Jeff & Mike - as wine flows so does the conversation with many great tales about the people behind the wines we love here in California. The joy of this comprehensive guide are the wine notes, plus the personal notes by Mike & Jeff along with recipes that are perfectly paired.

Enjoy the conversation, but be warned some listeners may find it slightly fruity forward.
Cheers!
