15 Rescued From Fishing Boat Grounded West Of Golden Gate Bridge

MARIN HEADLANDS (KPIX 5) -- U.S. Coast Guard Station Golden Gate and a Southern Marin Fire Department boat rescued 15 people from a 50-foot fishing boat that took on water this afternoon, a U.S. Coast Guard public affairs officer said.

The sportfishing vessel took on water and became grounded at Kirby Cove in the Marin Headlands in the Golden Gate National Recreation area outside the Golden Gate Bridge, Coast Guard Sector San Francisco Lt. Luciana Ganley said.

Those aboard the vessel were transported to another location, Ganley said.
