First Dusting Of Snow Hits Sierra; More Snow Expected

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE (CBS SF)  -- The season's first dusting of snow hit the Sierra Nevada overnight Thursday, with predictions of more snow this weekend.

"Those planning outdoor activities this weekend in the Sierra above 8,000 feet should prepare for winter conditions," The National Weather Service said in a statement Thursday.

Low pressure moving into the West Coast will bring much cooler temperatures for Friday and Saturday, increasing chances for rain and high-elevation snow, according to the weather service.
