POINT LOBOS STATE RESERVE, Monterey County (CBS SF) -- Firefighters were called in to help a person trapped under a tree Thursday afternoon in Point Lobos State Reserve in Monterey County, Cal Fire officials said.

At around 1 p.m., a team of firefighters from the Carmel Highlands Fire Protection District and Cal Fire responded to reports of a person struck by a tree.

Crews located the victim, who was stuck under the tree 200 yards from a parking lot at Whaler's Cove at the Point Lobos reserve, fire officials said. The 10 firefighters at the scene used a chainsaw on the tree to free the victim.

The victim was taken to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas. Cal Fire spokesman Jonathan Pangburn said the injuries were mild.
