Evacuation Orders Lifted As Crews Gain Control of Brentwood-Area Blazes

BRENTWOOD (CBS SF) -- The evacuation order has been lifted for residents of about 50 homes in Contra Costa County south of Brentwood where grass fires were burning Saturday morning.

At one point, about 200 firefighters had been battling three vegetation fires.

Two of three fires in the Deer Valley Road complex are out with a third fire contained to 144 acres, according to Cal Fire division chief Jim Crawford.

A total of about 240 acres in this rural area had been affected. No injuries have been reported.
