Firefighters Knock Down 3-Alarm Fire At Fremont Apartment Building
FREMONT (CBS SF) -- Firefighters were able to put out a three-alarm structure fire at an apartment complex in Fremont Thursday that displaced up to 34 residents, according to fire officials.
The fire was reported at 2:15 p.m. in the 300 block of Woodcreek Terrace just off of Mission Boulevard. The building is located to the west of I-680. Smoke from it was visible to cars on the freeway.
Fremont Fire officials tweeted that the fire spread had been stopped shortly after 3 p.m.

A total of four units were heavily damaged by the fire. Crews were still working to contain it as of 3:30 p.m.

Fremont Fire officials did not confirm that the fire was out until almost 6 p.m.

While only four apartments received extensive damage, far more residents who live at the apartment were displaced. Fremont city officials and the Red Cross were working to find temporary housing for those who were displaced.
No injuries were reported in connection with the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
