Firefighter Injured In Milpitas House Fire

MILPITAS (CBS SF) -- A Milpitas home was destroyed in a fire that injured one firefighter on Monday morning, according to the Milpitas Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the structure fire at a single-family home in the 3300 block of Calaveras Road around 8:50 a.m., fire officials said.

Arriving units saw visible smoke and fire coming from the roof, according to fire officials.

The fire was extinguished by 12:21 p.m., fire officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and the structure is considered to be a total loss, according to fire officials.

No residents were displaced and one firefighter injured during the blaze was transported to a hospital for evaluation, fire officials said.
