Family Of 5 Seriously Injured In 2-Alarm San Francisco Mission District Fire
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A family of five were seriously injured from a two-alarm fire in San Francisco's Mission District Wednesday morning.
The father and two kids were transported to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White. The mother and another child were taken to St. Francis with critical injuries.
The injuries were reportedly from smoke inhalation, firefighters said.
The fire, now extinguished, may have started on the ground floor of a liquor store on 24th St. near Treat Ave. and then spread to the second floor apartment.
It took firefighters about 30 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
Police have closed 24th St. in both directions between Folsom St. and Treat Ave.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
