Fire Burning Near Geysers In Sonoma County 55-Percent Contained

CLOVERDALE (KCBS) -- Fire crews are making progress against a two square-mile blaze burning near The Geysers geothermal facility in Sonoma County.

Cal Fire says the fire is 55-percent contained, and remains at 15-hundred acres.

The blaze forced the temporary evacuation of one of the 14 plants at the Calpine facility.

But a Calpine spokesman says employees have been allowed to return.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

All road closures and evacuation orders have been lifted.
