Fill Up The Tank Now? Wholesale Gas Price Hikes Likely To Be Passed To Drivers
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Falling gas prices have offered relief for consumers, but those costs could be heading back up again.
The average price of a regular gallon of gas has dropped thirteen-cents in the past two weeks to $2.07-per gallon, but industry analyst Trilby Lundberg says that's likely about to change because of rising wholesale prices.
"Unless there's another crude oil price crash, this will be it, because wholesalers and gasoline station operators are getting price hikes, and they'll have to pass those through to motorists," Lundberg said.
The rising costs of crude oil over the past ten days should eventually be seen at the pump.
San Francisco continued to have the highest-priced gasoline at $2.54 per gallon.
