Female UC Berkeley Student Reports Sex Assault After Meeting Man Off Internet

BERKELEY (CBS SF) -- The University of California at Berkeley police received a report Monday of a sexual assault of a female student, police said.

Officers received the report at about 10:45 p.m., according to police.

The victim met the alleged attacker on the Internet and the two met off campus in the City of Berkeley, police said.

The victim was attacked a short time later, according to police.

The suspect is being described as a Hispanic man, 26, police said.
